Membership Growth Manager


Outdoor Prolink is seeking a full-time Membership Growth Manager for our office in Boulder, CO. We’re looking for an experienced sales and marketing professional with a strong background in customer acquisition, community engagement, and growth marketing. The ideal candidate also enjoys the outdoors (or has experience working in the outdoor industry), loves people and is looking for a stable position at a fast-growing company. Outdoor Prolink is a members only e-commerce website for professionals working in the outdoor industry; we need you to help us continue to grow our 100k+ roster of outdoor pros!

About this position


As a Membership Growth Manager your daily responsibilities include:
  • Create and implement successful growth strategies to build our membership base
  • Manage, inspire and lead our membership team
  • Setting weekly/monthly/quarterly team goals
  • Measuring, understanding and acting on membership KPIs
  • Be an active stakeholder in our software development process
  • Approving/denying new members and renewing existing members
  • Crafting a membership event strategy and attending tradeshows
  • Understanding the sporting goods landscape and marketplace
  • Building and maintaining relationships with prospective outdoor organizations and pros
  • Using a range of software tools to do your job (PowerBI, Excel, Google Analytics, SendGrid/Klaviyo, SugarCRM, + more)
  • Using data to make informed decisions
  • Reports to Head of Marketing

The ideal candidate


We think a great fit for the Membership Growth Manager includes most or all of the following traits and skills:
  • Results-driven: Tirelessly committed to meeting or exceeding objective membership growth goals. Comfortable in a fast-paced and results-oriented organization.
  • Customer-centric: A “people-person” who loves building relationships and is obsessed with understanding customers and crafting strategies to create a stellar customer experience.
  • Analytical: Loves data and making sense of it. Knows how to build and leverage detailed reports to drive growth and improve KPIs (Excel, PowerBI, Google Analytics)
  • Growth/digital marketing experience: Strong background in customer segmentation; content marketing, digital marketing, social media, SEM, SEO, marketing automation, email marketing and/or paid marketing channels.
  • Customer acquisition experience: Has worked closely with (or on) a sales team to help meet sales and revenue goals. Understands the sales pipeline/stages and metrics. Competent with modern CRM software.
  • Self-starter: Is excited to learn and experiment with new ideas. Works independently to solve problems.
  • A proven leader: 3+ years of management experience. Organizes team tasks and workload efficiently. Exercises diplomacy in the face of adversity. Stays positive, motivated and all-around-stoked (and inspires others to do the same)!
  • Bonus points: a background working in the outdoors or in the outdoor industry.
